Exchange Rate Cuts Cost of Cruise Drinks Packages for Australians

Royal Caribbean has revised its foreign exchange rate to reflect the stronger Australian dollar, effectively reducing costs for onboard extras.Cruise Critic member Esilef was first to report the change on the Australia & NZ Cruisers board after spotting new pricing on the lines Pre Cruise Planner. This means that drink packages are now cheaper, Elisef commented.The Deluxe Beverage Package has come down to AU$69.30 per person per day (plus 18 percent gratuity), saving local cruisers around AU$10 per day. Royal Caribbeans dining packages and shore excursions are also cheaper as a result of the revision.A Royal Caribbean spokesperson explained: From time to time, pricing for products which are available via our Pre Cruise Planner, including beverage packages, can change slightly as international currency exchange rates fluctuate, which can impact the relative cost in Australian dollars for our guests.
