MSC Cruises floated out MSC Seaview, the sister ship to the Miami-bound MSC Seaside in the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy today. The 5,179-passenger ship is the second ship in the Seaside class of ships and will launch in June 2018. MSC Seaview will be deployed in the Western Mediterranean before repositioning to Brazil in December 2018.The launch of the ship forms part of MSC Cruises nine billion euro, 10-year investment plan which will come out with a new ship almost every year until 2023.The float out is a key milestone in the construction of a cruise ship, as it is the moment when the vessel is first touched by water; during the process, the dry dock is flooded and the ship is moved to a wet dock for the final phase of construction. The exterior of Seaview is now complete and work moves to interiors, fixtures and furnishings.
