The Seabourn Cruise Line was established in 1986 by a group of Norwegian investors. It is based in Miami, Florida and has been in operation for over 20 years. In 1998, Carnival Corporation purchased a stake in Seabourn. Several years later in 2001, Seabourn became a wholly owned subsidiary of Carnival Corporation. Other brands in the group include Costa Cruises, P&O Cruises, Carnival Cruise Lines, Cunard Line, AIDA Cruises, Holland America Line and Princess Cruises.
The companys mission is: "creating exceptional yachting vacations by personally owning the fulfillment of each guest's expectations."

It has a fleet of five Seabourn ships Pride, Spirit, Legend, Odyssey, Sojourn, with one more luxurious ship to be added in 2011, the keenly awaited New build Three. Its ships make ports of call to the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Asia, India, Arabia, and South America amongst its destinations. Cruises range from seven days to longer ones that last for around 100 days. The Yachts of Seabourn is the ultimate in ultra luxury cruise line. It is recognized for its small yachts that provide an intimate setting with just over 200 guests, and that can travel to exotic locations that the bigger ships cannot visit. Passengers will be provided with a high level of luxury and amenities on board the ship. Personalized service and elegant suites are some of the characteristics that one can expect as a cruise passenger. The Seabourn Cruise Line has many awards for the worlds best small ship cruise line. Cond?ast Traveler Readers Choice Awards, voted in it as the World's Best Small Ship Cruise Line in 2008. In the following year, as part of Travel + Leisure annual Worlds Best Awards, it was given the accolade of World's Best Small Ship Line.
